Hi! This is Elliot, writing for the Wargos. Petals by Pedals is an almagamation of our family's skillsets and interests. What started as a way to spend time outside together during the pandemic has blossomed (I know, I know, but it was just asking for it...😏) into a small business that reflects the strengths and interests of each family member and the blessings entrusted to us. Working outside together on the half acre of land we tend ("the farm" as we call it), has provided much joy, learning, and of course, a requisite dose of hard work, needed, I think, to cultivate deeper relationships with each other, the world, and our Creator.
Julia is the primary pedaler (and peddler for that matter) of Petals by Pedal, as well as being the face of the business (for good reason...😉). She is the lover of flowers, and the entire reason this enterprise exists. The researcher and organizer of the family, she is equally at ease creating a seeding schedule, writing a business plan, or developing next quarter's homeschool curriculum.
Elliot is the behind-the-scenes helper for Petals by Pedal. He tends to spend his time doing a lot of shoveling and moving materials around, in addition to building things, whether that be a greenhouse or a website. While he may not be the originator of the business idea, he will take credit for getting Julia into biking many years ago.
Penelope, Eleanor, Dietrich, and Liesel are our four older kids. It's been a joy watching them develop into real contributors at the farm over the last few years. Penelope and Eleanor are the caretakers of our ducks, which we keep for eggs. Dietrich loves building things, so can most often be found tagging along with Elliot, whether that be bolting together the greenhouse or moving woodchips. Liesel also loves the flowers and is a great little partner for Julia.
Thaddeus is the newest addition to the family and genuinely brings joy to the rest of us. He, of course, is most interested in hanging out with Julia, but we have discovered he loves being outside, and recently has been enjoying crawling around the greenhouse and sampling the various types of farm dirt.
Thanks for reading! We hope that through Petals by Pedal we can share the joy that comes from caring for the earth and caring for each other. We welcome you to pedal along with us...😁
